The commitment, hard work, and never give up attitude of the Somerset Lil’ Bulldogs football players, cheerleaders and coaches have helped them achieve a memorable and amazing season.
"I think that's one of the big keys to the organization, “states Freshman Assistant Football Coach and Texas Sports Radio Network analyst Jaime Farias, “There are close to 150 kids and all of them are outstanding hard working athletes. I've always believed that football is the one team sport that one athlete cannot make the overall difference. The kids made great contributions this year and showed up willing to work every day improving every day and it showed."
The cheerleaders deserve a tremendous amount of credit for their efforts in providing wonderful support for all of the teams this season. Their hard work and great performances this year paid off as they received several accolades.
The Flag Football Cheerleaders placed 2nd in their division, with the Freshman group placing 3rd. The Varsity group placed 1st giving them the title of Regional Champs and sending them to Florida where they place 6th at Nationals for their division.
The Bulldog football teams also had great years across the board defeating some of the division’s best football squads and programs from around the Greater San Antonio area. All teams were rewarded with trips to the playoffs.
The Flag Football team finished 2nd, with the Freshman group finishing 3rd. The Varsity squad also had a solid year finishing 4th in the City Championship playoff tournament.
This was no doubt a season full of memories that all kids and coaches will never soon forget.
Congratulations to the Lil’ Bulldogs Football and Cheerleader squads on a successful year. You represented the organization and Somerset, Texas with pride and the absolute best of your ability.
